Armistice Day 2016

11 November 2016

At 11:00am on 11th November 2016, Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust commemorated Armistice Day with a service held at the HMS CAVALIER – the National Destroyer Memorial.

Visitors, members of the public and the Dockyard community gathered to remember those lost in conflicts across the world.  The service was let be Rev. Andrew Huckett, Chaplain of the HMS Cavalier Association.

Following a two minutes silence, a single shot from B Gun on HMS Cavalier marked the end of the silence and those attending were invited to lay wreaths to remember those lost.

We would like to thank all those that attended today’s service and in particular to thank Stephen Louch who performed Last Post and Paul Stevens (Piper) for providing music before and after the service.
