This year we have looked at how we have sparked creativity over our 400 years through art, photography, music and much more. This time we are now looking for creative bakers to make our birthday cake!
All ages and skills can enter!
On Sunday 15th July we will be holding a bake off here as a competition to find the best birthday cake. Whether you’re a professional baker, enjoy your weekends baking, or the youngsters in the family just getting started, all cakes will be judged on the creativity and theme relating to The Dockyard.
Cakes will be judged on the categories of taste, appearance, most unusual ingredients and an overall winner with the theme being your memory of The Dockyard.
With previous winner of The Great British Bake Off Frances Quinn, our Chief Executive Bill Ferris, who started his career as a baker and The Dockyard’s catering manager David Johnson, get ready to be judged on your creative skills for some amazing prizes the winner’s will receive!
The Commissioner’s House marquee will be a cake lovers dream – cakes will be on display before the winner’s are announced. And if you need more than cake, the bar will be open to add to the summer’s day serving refreshing drinks to enjoy in the garden whilst watching a live performance from The Polka Dot Dolls!
So get your apron ready and start baking…entries are open now!

Entries are £10 and also give you and a friend entrance to all of The Dockyard for the day, including the temporary exhibition Brick History: a walk through history in LEGO® bricks.
