Please read these terms of use carefully before you start to use this site, prior to purchasing any tickets or making a booking. By using this site, you indicate that you accept these terms of use and that you agree to abide by them. If you do not agree to these terms of use, please refrain from using this site or making any transaction with Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust.

The materials contained on our site are provided for general information purposes only and do not claim to be or constitute legal or other professional advice and shall not be relied upon as such. We do not accept any responsibility for any loss which may arise from accessing or reliance on the information on this site and to the fullest extent permitted by English law, we exclude all liability for loss or damages direct or indirect arising from use of this site.

thedockyard.co.uk is a site operated by Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust (“We”); we are a registered Charity  in England and Wales under registration number 292101. Our registered office is Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust, The Fitted Rigging House, The Historic Dockyard, Chatham, Kent ME4 4TE.


ENTRY TICKETS

Tickets are non transferable. General admission tickets are valid for 12 months from the date of first visit. Name, address and postcode will be requested on first visit for our records. Identification will be requested on return visits with 12 month tickets. We reserve the right to request additional proof of identity if necessary.

Return visits subject to normal opening dates and times. 12 month tickets are not valid for entry to some events. Return visits with 12 month tickets are not valid for separately ticketed, non daytime or third party organised events. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.


EVENT TICKETS

The terms and conditions below apply to events and performances at The Historic Dockyard Chatham.

  • Tickets are sold subject to the right of Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust (CHDT) and/or visiting producer to alter or vary the advertised programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without prior notice and without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets
  • In the event of a performance being cancelled, CHDT will offer ticket holders alternative dates (subject to availability), if alternative date possible.
  • Payment is required at point of booking in order to secure the booking. CHDT will not make refunds for bookings but, at the request of the customer, we will offer an alternative date (subject to availability) or endeavour to fill the booking. If CHDT is unable to fill the booking, no refund will be provided.
  • From time to time CHDT offers promotional discounts or concessions on tickets. Once any ticket is purchased at full price, no discounts or concessions will be made retrospectively.
  • CHDT reserves the right to refuse admission to venues to ensure the safety of its staff and other customers.
  • Whilst every effort will be made to admit latecomers to events this will be at the discretion of the event manager and cannot be guaranteed.
  • For seated events at CHDT seats are unallocated and are available on a first come first served basis.
  • CHDT and its employees are insured against loss, damage or personal injury through their negligence within its premises but shall otherwise not be liable
  • CHDT may record or take photographs of events and participants for use in promotional material and online. If you are not happy for your image to be used in this way please alert a member of staff.

CALL THE MIDWIFE OFFICIAL LOCATION TOURS

  • Please note that no sets or scenes remain in place, these are disassembled by the film company when the actual filming is complete.
  • This is an outdoor walking tour with some uneven surfaces; please ensure you are wearing comfortable foot ware.
  • Please advise us in advance if you have any mobility issues and we will accommodate you the best we can.
  • Bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • For any amendments to your tour please contact our bookings team on 01634 823812 and we will try to accommodate changes. Please note there will be a £5.00 administration fee for changing your tour date and we will require at least 28 days’ notice of these changes.
  • If you miss your tour, please be aware that we cannot accommodate a new date for you and there will be no refund for missed tours.

GROUP VISITS

  • Group rates are available to all organised groups with a minimum of 15 paying visitors and a £1.00 per person deposit payment received at least 14 days prior to the proposed visit date.
  • We regret that cash refunds cannot be offered in the event of cancellations or no-shows.
  • Discount vouchers, coupons and other offers are not valid in conjunction with group rates.
  • If your group has special needs please let us know at the time of booking.
  • Cheques should be made payable to Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust. Please do not send cash through the post.
  • Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust reserves the right to refuse admission and may conduct security searches to ensure the safety of patrons.
  • Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust will not accept liability for any lost of stolen property belonging to visitors to The Historic Dockyard.
  • Details on this form are correct at the time of printing. The Historic Dockyard is undergoing extensive development programme and as a result some facilities may not be available at all times of the year. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
  • Access to attractions cannot always be guaranteed.
  • WARNING: Dockyards can be hazardous places. Visitors are asked to pay due care and attention when walking around The Historic Dockyard.
  • No animals, other than guide dogs for disabled visitors, are permitted entry to the galleries.
  • All additional guided tours must be pre booked and pre-paid in advance.
  • If a coach tour is booked, please be aware this will happen on board your own coach.
  • Ropery tours are included within the ticket price but need to be pre booked in advance for groups, if this is not stated on the booking form or been requested via email or telephone conversation, then we cannot guarantee tour availability on the day of your visit.
  • The Submarine guided tour cannot be pre booked in advance. Any members of your group who wish to go on board the submarine must book this independently with our team on the day of your visit.
  • No food or drink is allowed in any of the galleries and attractions
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in all galleries and attractions.

ACCESSING OUR WEBSITE

Access to our site is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide on our site without notice (see below). We will not be liable if for any reason our site is unavailable at any time or for any period.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our site, and in the material published on it.  Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world.  All such rights are reserved. You may print off one copy, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from our site for your personal reference and you may draw the attention of others within your organisation to material posted on our site. You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text. Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of material on our site must always be acknowledged. You must not use any part of the materials on our site for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from us or our licensors. If you print off, copy or download any part of our site in breach of these terms of use, your right to use our site will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

We aim to update our site regularly, and may change the content at any time. If the need arises, we may suspend access to our site, or close it indefinitely. Any of the material on our site may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update such material.

The material displayed on our site is provided without any guarantees, conditions or warranties as to its accuracy. To the extent permitted by law, we, and third parties connected to us hereby expressly exclude:

VIRUSES, HACKING AND OTHER OFFENCES
