Both of these activities are linked with our Michael Foreman exhibition showcasing in No.1 Smithery (7 days a week until 26th November).
Michael Foreman is one of Britain’s best-known and internationally acclaimed creators of books for children.
With original artwork on show alongside playful props and costumes, Seven Stories’ exhibition, (supported by Arts Council England, Newcastle Council Fund, Anderson Press, Templar Publishing and Pavilion Books), explores Michael’s storytelling, and imagines a world without conflict, that cares for our environment and celebrates the importance of friendship.
Travel the world through Michael’s drawings from his sketchbook, which went with him everywhere. Stomp around like a Dinosaur as if you were in Dinosaurs and all that rubbish, or maybe discover an unlikely friend like Ali Pasha.
Throughout the Michael Foreman Exhibition opening, we will be running air raid shelter experiences in our very own Anderson Shelter, with an ARP Warden. This is booked at our bombed our street area – outside No.1 Smithery. This is included in your annual ticket at WEEKENDS ONLY.
Times are: 11.15, 12.15, 13.15, 14.15, 15.15 (lasts approx 35 mins) Please note that this activity does NOT run through October half term.
We will also be running a sensory led story telling activity involving musical instruments in No.1 Smithery with Michael Foreman books. This is a drop in session and is included in your annual ticket – WEEKENDS ONLY. Please note that this activity does NOT run through October half term – but we will be having enchanted story telling in Commissioners Garden.
