Dockyard to Dockyard Bike Ride

18 July 2018

Last week we were the finishing point for a fundraising bike ride!

Three local guys took on a challenge to raise money for 2 worthy causes in a sponsored bike ride of a very difficult challenge; Dockyard to Dockyard.

The challenge saw them cycling just under 180 miles, starting from HMS Victory in Portsmouth Dockyard, to The Historic Dockyard Chatham where they ended at the dock Victory once was.

Leaving on Wednesday they arrived at us the next day greeted by family and friends and a much-needed break!

Not only is the raised money going to The Alzheimer’s Society, but the other half of the money raised is going to a new community project, run by the lead of the bike ride: Jon Waite.

The new community project “The Community Cricket Hub”, will deliver various cricket activities in the local area for all ages and ability to bring Cricket to more people. Operating for 12 months a year, you won’t want to miss out on one of the programmes for some Cricket fun!

We were delighted to be a part of “The Victory Cycle – Dockyard to Dockyard” and it was a delight to see them reach the finish line – check out the photos below of their challenge…
