Brickwrecks: Legends of the Dockyard
01 Oct - 16 Nov 2025

As part of our public engagement programme supporting Brickwrecks: Sunken Ships in LEGO® Bricks, we worked with a range of local community groups, to help recreate iconic landmarks across the Historic Dockyard site using LEGO® bricks.
Each build focussed on a specific element of the Dockyard, such as HMS CAVALIER and The Ropery. Participants explored the stories behind these historic structures, through hands-on site visits and outreach sessions delivered by our public engagement team and supported by volunteers, whose lived experience and incredible knowledge helped shape each group’s experience.
The groups were provided with baseboards and LEGO® bricks, but the outcome was down to their individual interpretation of our site. This culminated in a complete LEGO® Dockyard model brought together and now displayed alongside our Brickwrecks: Sunken Ships in LEGO® Bricks exhibition.
The models on display are as follows:
- HM Submarine OCELOT by Nucleus Teen Art
- HMS CAVALIER by Electric Medway
- Dockyard Logo by Bradfields Academy
- HMS GANNET by The Anchor (Sun Pier House)
- Commissioner’s Garden by Sunlight Centre (Knit & Natter Group)
- No.1 Smithery and Clocktower by Sunlight Centre (Men in Sheds)
- Wagon Stop and Dockyard Trains By Sunlight Centre Weekend Wellbeing Group
- Lego Legends Launch Event at The Sunlight Centre
- The Ropery by Mess Room
- Commissioner’s House by the Dockyard Research Volunteers
- Royal Dockyard Church by MACA Seniors
- Mast House and Mould Loft by Spotlites Theatre
- Slips 3 and 4 by 300 Steps to the River (Sun Pier House – Pride Fringe)
