Dockyard40: Anchors Aweigh with Unravel & Unwind CIC

Anchors Aweigh is a special knitted exhibition, as part of The Historic Dockyard Chatham’s 40th anniversary and Medway Open Studios 2024.

You are invited to explore a tactile world of anchors and ships, developed in collaboration with Gillingham-based knitting and yarn shop Unravel & Unwind CIC and partnerships with various other local community groups.

Keep an eye out for Dockyard themed post box toppers around Medway and a rather special knitted addition to the iconic Thomas Waghorn statue by Chatham station.

LocationThe Namur Room, next to the Mess Deck Restaurant and various locations around Medway (offsite).
CostThe Anchors Aweigh exhibition is FREE to access. You do not need a ticket to the Historic Dockyard. All offsite elements of the project are in outdoor spaces freely accessible to the public such as high streets and train station approaches.
