This half term, grab a torch and gather close. When everyone has gone home for the day, the ghosts of the past come alive. Hear all about shadowy ships and badly behaved spirits while exploring on a special torch-lit tour designed to send a spine-tingling shiver down your neck.
Perfect for young ghost hunters, expect a few jumps and plenty of laughs as an enthusiastic guide leads you on an after-hours adventure around our historic buildings. Keep your eyes peeled as you explore, because you never know who might be watching from the shadows. Packed with stories, surprises, and plenty of fun, this special event introduces visitors to the mischievous spirits and lingering ghosts of The Historic Dockyard Chatham.

| Dates & Timings | Available from 28 October to 1 November 2026. Tours take place from 5pm to 6pm. Please arrive 20 minutes before your booking time. |
| Booking Information | Tours must be booked online. This is a separately ticketed event and not included in the annual Dockyard ticket. |
| Ages | The tour is most suitable for suitable for ages 9 to 15 and accompanying adults. It is not recommended for children aged 6 and under. |
| Accessibility | These tours take place in some spaces that are better accessed by stairs, however step free access is available. Outdoor areas may become slippery in icy or wet weather and all visitors are recommended to take care. Visitors are advised to contact us before their tour date to discuss any specific access requirements. Carers are free of charge, but must be booked in advance. Please call 01634 823800 to reserve a place. |
| Clothing | Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. The Dockyard is next to the River Medway and exposed to the wind. |
| Stories | This tour is specifically for families with spooky stories and a few gentle jump scares. |
| Food and Drink | The Mess Deck Restaurant is open until 5pm, so please arrive early if you would like to purchase food and drink. |
