Funny Women – How to have fun at work

19 Mar 2024

Funny Women

The value of women in the workplace should never be underestimated and particularly within our communities. Funny Women are celebrating International Women’s Day in partnership with Medway Council and the Federation of Small Businesses in the only way they know how to do this – by having some FUN AT WORK!

Funny Women have been empowering women in the comedy industry for over 20 years and in response to the demand for their programmes in the workplace they run the HERlarious programme to encourage professional women to have their voice.

We learn and bond through the collective power of humour and we retain a lot more information and build relationships with the people we work with by having a few laughs.

Their very special free event hosted at Commissioner’s House at The Historic Dockyard Chatham is aimed at exactly that as part of their Comedy in the Community programme here in Medway. It features workshops, panel discussion, essential networking and live comedy (of course!), and they will show you how to express your ideas more confidently and freely using some of the tried and tested tricks of the comedy trade.

Everyone is encouraged to attend, regardless of gender.

Take part in a lively round of quickfire workshops facilitated by amazing local business women.  There are four topics to choose from:

– CAN YOU FEEL IT?! GET YOUR BUSINESS MOJO RUNNING

YOU COULDN’T MAKE IT UP: HOW TO IMPROVISE

OWNING YOUR DIVERSITY

CONTENT AND INFLUENCE: HOW TO USE HUMOUR EFFECTIVELY

Followed by an interactive panel featuring local leaders and live comedy. Coffee and tea will be served upon arrival and a drinks reception will take place before the comedy.

This event is FREE to attend and fully funded by Medway Council and the UK Government Levelling Up initiative. However, Funny Women are asking for optional donations to our nominated charity, the Wisdom Hospice.
