Half Term Relaxed Opening – The Brave and the Waves

Join us for a relaxed opening afternoon at The Historic Dockyard Chatham this Half Term holidays. This session has been designed for visitors with autism, learning disabilities or sensory and communication needs, along with their siblings, families and carers.
You will have access to the whole museum between 3pm and 5pm. During your visit you will have the opportunity to take part in our fun and immersive family-friendly theatrical experience The Brave and The Waves and discover our new exhibition – RNLI 200: The Exhibition.
Thanks to funding from Arts Council England, we are able to offer these sessions on a complimentary basis. A ticket to The Historic Dockyard Chatham is not required. Spaces are limited and very popular, so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
ACCESS INFORMATION
- Please note The Brave and The Waves is a fun dramatic storytelling experience which takes place within the RNLI Historic Lifeboat Collection in Slip 4.
- There are three actors in the show and eight ‘stops’ on the performance. The audience moves through the space along with the actors. Each scene tells a different story and the audience is invited to get involved through a variety of singing and using percussion instruments.
- The 3.30pm performance will be the inclusive session.
- You will be free to leave the experience at any time should you decide it’s not for you. Please speak to a member of our visitor experience team if you have any concerns on the day.
- The session is free to attend (a ticket to The Historic Dockyard Chatham is not required).
- Spaces are limited to 50 and are very popular, so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
