Heritage Open Days: Dockyard Mateys Tour

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the closure of the Dockyard and the formation of Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust. As part of Heritage Open Days 2024, join former Dockyard Apprentices and Mateys as they take you on a journey around the Dockyard – as seen through their eyes.
Discover hidden and overlooked objects along with unexplained historical oddities in areas of the site not often explored by the general public.
You will be guided on a 90-minute walking tour around the Dockyard. The route is accessible and largely flat, but the walking surface varies.
Please note this tour takes place in outside spaces only.
