The year is 1887 and Chatham Dockyard is awash with whispers of treachery.
Rumours are rife that secrets have been sold to foreign lands, sparking a scandal that threatens the very foundation of the Royal Navy.
Professor Elgar, Director of Dockyards, and his officials of the Admiralty are in turmoil. Confidential plans and drawings of torpedo vessels and torpedoes have been leaked and the hunt for the elusive “Torpedo Turncoat” has begun.
Despite relentless efforts, the Admiralty and dockyard officials are stumped, their search for the traitor fruitless.

What to expect:
Mystery unfolds: Begin your journey at the Admiralty Wagon, where you’ll be greeted by a member of Professor Elgar’s elite team. Here you’ll receive your first set of clues.
Detective Kit: Create your very own set of special tools, essential for solving the mystery and becoming a true detective.
Clue hunt: Follow a trail of perplexing clues scattered across the Dockyard. Use keen observation skills to uncover hidden messages and decipher riddles.
Interactive challenges: Engage in a series of puzzles and tasks that will test your wits and deductive abilities. Each challenge you solve will bring you one step closer to unravelling the mystery.
Mystery solved: The adventure culminates in a curious reveal where the most astute detectives will crack the case of the torpedo turncoat.

We want as many local people as possible to enjoy a day out with us, to experience climbing aboard our historic warships, seeing the last remaining operational ropewalk, getting hands-on in our galleries and connecting with the stories of the past.
To help people who might find cost a barrier to visiting The Historic Dockyard Chatham, our Universal Credit and Pension Credit tickets provide entry at a reduced price.
A limited number of tickets are available for Medway residents each day for £2 per person (children aged 3 and under are free).
