Call the Midwife Tours are back!
We are delighted to share the news that Call the Midwife Official Location Tours are back at The Historic Dockyard!
If you’ve spent lockdown binge watching the series on Netflix, re-living your favourite episodes on BBC iplayer or maybe you’re looking to treat yourself to a unique day out, there’s no better time to walk in the footsteps of your favourite Call the Midwife cast members.
Brought to you in partnership with Neal Street Productions, the only Official Location Tour gives you a special behind the scenes insight into the popular series and your favourite characters. Walk the cobbled streets of ‘Poplar’, see the familiar building fronts and explore the exclusive exhibition with sets and costumes.

A few changes to our delivery
The safety of our visitors is our number one priority. In order to continue with our Call the Midwife Official Location Tours, we have made a few changes to how we operate our tours. Please scroll down to read about our new (pain free) delivery methods:
We have reduced the number of people on each tour from 25 to 12.
This means you can enjoy the tour in the knowledge that you can easily keep 2 metres from others.
We have introduced pre-booked arrival times for all visitors
This helps facilitate safe, managed queuing at our visitor entrance.
Our Midwife guides will wear face visors and use a voice projector.
In line with the latest government guidance, this helps ensure the safety of both our staff and our visitors.
We ask that visitors wear face coverings whilst inside the Call the Midwife gallery.
To follow the recent rules, we ask that visitors wear face coverings within all our covered spaces. The only part of the tour where this will be necessary is within our Call the Midwife gallery that is at the end of the tour. Your Midwife tour guide will give you plenty of notice to have your face covering ready before entering the gallery.
We have introduced a controlled one way system within the Call the Midwife gallery.
One way systems within our galleries are now in place to help with social distancing. Depending on numbers, your tour may be divided into two groups before entering the gallery.
We have fully risk assessed our tours to ensure COVID-19 safety.
Our team have ensured that this tour is now not just deemed safe but also still enjoyable for visitors.
