Solve the mystery of the Torpedo Turncoat in ‘The Game Is Afoot’ and explore all the attractions The Dockyard has to offer, including three historic ships, interactive museum galleries, playgrounds and soft play.
One free child ticket for every full-paying adult. Offer is available to book online or at our ticket desk. Tickets are valid for multiple visits for a whole year. (Offer is not valid in conjunction with any other promotion).
FREE Creative Workshops
We know that keeping the kids entertained through the long summer holiday can be costly. Throughout the summer break, we will be running a series of FREE creative workshops for families within the Namur Room of the Mess Deck restaurant.
31 July: Read All About It (drop-in)
Join artist Nick Ashton, for a creative workshop where your drawing skills are vital in cracking the mystery. Engage in this captivating session where you can unleash your artistic talents and play a part in unveiling the secrets concealed.
7 & 21 August: Tactile Detectives (drop-in)
Join Wendy Daws and the MESS ROOM team for ‘Tactile Detectives’ family-friendly workshops inspired by The Historic Dockyard Chatham. Try embossing on foil to create your artwork and tactile pictogram artwork to take away with you.
14 August: Anchors Aweigh (booking required)
Led by Faye Lamb from the Gillingham-based Unravel & Unwind C.I.C, as part of our installation for Medway Open Studios 2024. Discover the art of crafting a basic anchor design using a variety of simple crochet stitches. Select from a vibrant selection of yarns inspired by the pride themed colours to bring your anchor to life.
You do not need a ticket to The Historic Dockyard, just come along and join the fun.
FREE Bus Travel for Children
Visit The Historic Dockyard Chatham on the new summer holiday bus route that will serve key leisure destinations in Chatham, Gillingham and Rainham until 1 September. Available from 20 July to 1 September, the holiday special travel offer allows up to three children to travel for free with a fare-paying adult or concessionary bus pass holder.
