Save on Historic Dockyard tickets with Great British Summer Savings

This summer, enjoy a day out for less at The Historic Dockyard Chatham thanks to the UK Government’s temporary VAT reduction.
As part of the Government’s Great British Summer Savings initiative, we are reducing admission prices on visits between 1 July and 1 September 2026, making one of Kent’s leading family attractions even better value.
The reduced prices apply to standard admission tickets, giving you even more opportunities to explore our award-winning historic ships, galleries and exhibitions during the summer holidays.
There is even more to discover this year, with the Steve Backshall’s Awesome Oceans Family Trail launching on 11 July and Ocean Photographer of the Year exhibition running until 31 August.
Now is the perfect time to plan your visit.

What is the Great British Summer Savings scheme?
The Great British Summer Savings scheme was announced by the UK Government in May 2026 as a temporary VAT relief initiative designed to help families enjoy days out and attractions for less during the summer.
At The Historic Dockyard Chatham, we have chosen to pass this saving on to our visitors. Reduced pricing applies to all standard admission tickets, including adult, child and family tickets, as well as children’s meals purchased in the Mess Deck Restaurant.
