Medway will come together on Saturday 27 June to celebrate Armed Forces Day at The Historic Dockyard Chatham.

Tickets for the free event will be released to the general public on Wednesday 6 May.

Veterans’ Tickets

To ensure they can attend, tickets for veterans and service families have been made available early by invitation.

About the Event

Set to run from 10am to 5pm, Medway’s Armed Forces Day event will have a packed programme of events.

With military vehicles and displays, live music and performances, military parades and have-a-go activities, there will be something for the whole family to enjoy.

Cllr Nina Gurung, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Heritage, Culture and Leisure, said: “Medway has a long and proud military history and Armed Forces Day is always a highlight of the year. We are incredibly proud to be working with The Historic Dockyard Chatham once again on this year’s celebrations – it is such a special venue and provides a wonderful backdrop to an event which looks to honour, remember and celebrate the whole Armed Forces family.

“As always, this is a free event, but remember you do still need to book your ticket. We look forward to seeing you there, and I would like to thank all of the teams involved in organising what is always an incredibly special event.”

Admiral Sir Trevor Soar KCB OBE DL, Chairman, Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust, said: “We are delighted to welcome the community back to The Historic Dockyard Chatham for this year’s Armed Forces Day celebrations. The Dockyard has been at the heart of Medway’s maritime and military story for over 400 years, making it the perfect setting to honour the men and women who serve today, as well as our veterans and their families. As a proud supporter of the Armed Forces Covenant, it is a privilege to host such a prestigious event that celebrates our naval heritage and the unwavering dedication of our Armed Forces. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the Dockyard for what promises to be a memorable day.”
