We have developed a selection of digital learning resources to enable you to access a wide range of material from our collections and archive.

Our Learning Team can support your work in the classroom through bespoke online Learning experiences on digital platforms.

These sessions can combine the use of our digital content with live interactive sessions. You will have access to experts at the Dockyard, who can support your class in their learning journey. This can include online sessions before a visit to introduce a new unit, or after a visit to consolidate learning.

Get in touch to book a live online session, and to discuss how we can support your work in the classroom.

Each of the following timelines, based on a theme or period of history, will give you access to images, video and audio files held by Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust and associated heritage institutions.

Since the closure of the Dockyard in 1984, Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust has built up a physical collection of material. We are now in a position to digitise elements of our collection to help tell the story of this amazing place.

This timeline will show you the growth of the Royal Dockyard at Chatham from 1618 up to its closure in 1984, and how the area was redeveloped into what we see today.

This timeline shows the events leading up to and during the Dutch Raid on the River Medway in June 1667.
