Mini adventures amid 400 years of maritime history. We know we are a BIG site – 80 acres to be precise! But that’s a whole 80-acres for kids to explore and get really hands on with history.
Don’t forget your ticket lasts for 12 months, so there’s no need to tackle everything in one visit.
FREE ACCESS PLAY AREA
We have a play area located by our visitor entrance that is free for anyone to enjoy (you do not need an admission ticket).
It’s located near our Mess Deck Restaurant so a perfect excuse to pick up a coffee, snack or ice cream whilst you sit back and watch the kids burn off steam.
OUTDOOR PLAY
Our ‘Outdoor Adventure’ play area is located opposite Commissioner’s House and close to the Ropery – perfectly located to break up your visit, pick up a snack in Wagon Stop or stop for a picnic.
INDOOR SOFT PLAY
For our smaller visitors we have a fun soft play area, located in our Wagon Stop canteen, alongside our Dockyard locomotive workshop.
On occasions you’ll see our Railway Volunteers at work carrying out maintenance on our locos which you can see running through the site each month.
Soft play area opening times:
- Monday – Friday: 10am-2pm
- Saturday & Sunday: 10am-3pm
