We make every effort to keep all areas of The Historic Dockyard Chatham open at all times. On a small number of days, certain areas need to be closed to visitors or access limited. Please check this page prior to your visit to avoid disappointment on the day.
seasonal OPENINGS and closures
This Historic Dockyard Chatham is closed to annual ticket holders on the following dates:
- Mondays and Tuesdays from 7 September to 15 November 2026 (excluding October Half Term).
Site Notices
- During periods of hot weather the Mess Deck Restaurant will stop serving hot food early, or serve a cold food menu all day.
- There will be conservation works to the Foremast of HMS GANNET until further notice.
- During periods of hot weather, there will be fewer tours of HM Submarine OCELOT, particularly in the afternoons. We advise arriving early to book your tour during these times. In extreme high temperatures all tours may be cancelled.
