University of Kent - Student news & information

Benefits of The Historic Dockyard Chatham Campus

Here at The Historic Dockyard Chatham, we are delighted to have one of the UK’s leading Universities study right here on our 80 acre historic site!

Students can get free admission to the Historic Dockyard and discounted admission for up to five guests when you present your Kent ID.

To keep up with all the latest news and information on this campus, please see all the information below.

If there is anything we have missed or you need to find out more, email us at: info@chdt.org.uk

Parking

Students and staff will need a University of Kent parking permit to park here on site.

University staff and students are allocated a certain number of parking spaces here which is in line with the University’s lease arrangements.

To ensure the number of Kent vehicles at the Historic Dockyard remains within this allocation, a permit system has been introduced.

These permits will be available to students via the Medway parking ballot.

Visit the Uni pages for more info: transport webpages or email transport@kent.ac.uk.

Food & Drink

Kent students and staff receive a 10% discount in the Wagon Shop and Mess Deck restaurants (excluding alcohol).

Please present your valid Kent ID upon purchasing

Events

Keep an eye out for discounted admission to the Historic Dockyard’s special events throughout the year!

Main 2 events of the year are: The Festival of Steam & Transport and Salute to the ’40s!

Work Experience

We provided a wide selection of EP rewards in 2015-2016, which included work experience placements in Archives and Collections, Education and Learning, Marketing, Event Planning and Theatrical Activities.
