Doc.Yard's Secret Lab

The Shape of Sound

This year Doc.Yard’s Secret Lab consists of a 20 minute noise workshop presented by Bunsen – Doc.Yard’s assistant; a make and take area with noisy poppers and chicken noise makers, and Doc’s own Sound laboratory with noises to make and activities to try! -Make a sound wave, play a bugle and learn about sound!

To visit Secret Lab you must book a time slot upon arrival at the Plan Your Visit point – this is at no extra cost. This experience is bookable throughout the day at timings of every half hour from arrival time: 10-10.30 until 16:30-17:00.

The noise workshop takes place in No.1 Smithery and lasts for 20 minutes. Buggies can be parked inside the building before entering the room and everyone gets a ‘vocal warm up’ before entering the lab!

We do advise arriving early to book your time slot to avoid any disappointment.

NOISE WORKSHOP

Bunsen will show you how to ‘see’ sound – make music without touching an instrument! Be amazed at the science ‘magic’ of the chladni plate and much more.

MAKE & TAKE
